New York Jets WR Omar Cooper Jr. (high ankle sprain) will be placed on the reserve/injured (IR) list, according to a source on Saturday, Sept. 19. Cooper will miss a minimum of four games before he can be designated to return.

Why It Matters: Selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft by the Jets, Cooper was expected to ramp up his playing time and contribute to rebuilding offense opposite Garrett Wilson. Cooper's setback will derail those plans in the short-term. For fantasy, Cooper is an IR stash or a drop in the majority of leagues, but he can be held if you have the bench space or are in a deeper league where options are scarce. Wilson remains the only weekly fantasy starter among the Jets' pass-catching
options.
