The Minnesota Lynx and Indiana Fever play a home and home series to end the season. It begins Tuesday, Sept. 22, when the Fever play host to the Lynx at Gainbridge Fieldhouse (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).
Both teams have playoff seeding on the line. If the Lynx win one of the two games, they lock in the No. 1 seed and homecourt for the entirety of the playoffs.
Indiana, on the other hand, could be seeded anywhere from No. 3 to No. 8, depending on how it finishes. The Fever have a chance at home-court advantage in the first round, but need to win both games against the Lynx. If Indiana wins one, it will probably finish No. 6 or No. 7. Lose both and they'll may see the Lynx again in the opening round of the playoffs as the No. 8 seed.
The Lynx are coming off
a win at Connecticut on Sunday in which Olivia Miles set the rookie scoring record. She is averaging 19.8 points and six assists a game.
The Fever lost to the Washington Mystics on Sunday. Kelsey Mitchell, who recently broke the WNBA season scoring record, is averaging 25.1 points per game.
The two teams play for the second time this season. The Lynx beat the Fever 108-100 on Aug. 2. Miles led the Lynx with 28 points and Mitchell the Fever with 37 points.
