As players return from international duty, Liverpool faces a daunting task to take down Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday, Oct. 11.
The Merseyside club has gone unbeaten to start the 2026-27 Premier League campaign, but has just two wins to go along with three draws.
Meanwhile, the Cityzens have won all five of their league matches and currently lead the table, aiming to win their first Premier League title since the 2023-24 season.
Liverpool was dealt two major blows during the international break with injuries to striker Alexander Isak (thigh) and winger Cody Gakpo (ankle).
"Alex Isak and Cody Gakpo will not play the game. They are not ready," manager Andoni Iraola said during a press conference on Friday.
On the positive side, defender Jérémy
Jacquet (hamstring) is available for the fixture after suffering an injury while representing France.
"Yeah, he's fit, he's ready to go," said the Spanish manager. "I think he didn't play with the national team [in the] last game because of protection."
Here is the projected lineup for Liverpool's upcoming match against Manchester City.
