Josh Allen has a strong case for being the best quarterback in the NFL.
Allen, 30, has led the Buffalo Bills to a 3-1 start to the 2026 season as they head into Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams.
So far in 2026, Allen has completed 79-of-119 passes (66.4%) for 1,039 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions as the Bills hold an early lead in the AFC East, seeking their seventh straight playoff appearance.
However, before Allen became a superstar NFL quarterback, he was a standout quarterback for two seasons in California. Here's what you need to know about Allen's prep career:

Allen was a one-year starter for Firebaugh High School in Firebaugh, California. While he earned playing time as a junior, he was only a full-time starter during
his senior season.
In his lone season as a starter, Allen led the Eagles to a 10–2 record. He threw for 3,061 yards, 33 touchdowns and five interceptions, completing 50.8% of his passes, alongside 407 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.
- 2012-13 (Junior): 129-of-254 passing for 2,208 yards, 26 touchdowns and 10 interceptions; 18 rushes for 201 yards
- 2013-14 (Senior): 198-of-345 passing for 3,061 yards, 33 touchdowns and five interceptions; 56 rushes for 407 yards and four touchdowns
Allen also competed in baseball and basketball for Firebaugh. Despite the strong numbers in his senior season, Allen did not receive any Division I offers to play at the next level.
Instead, Allen began his collegiate career at Reedley College before transferring to Wyoming.
In October 2025, Firebaugh High School renamed its football field Josh Allen Field in Allen's honor.
