Panthers RB Jonathon Brooks (abdomen) will have surgery to repair a core-muscle injury Wednesday and will be placed on Injured Reserve, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He's expected to miss six weeks.
Why it Matters: Those who chose to side with Chuba Hubbard in drafts from this committee are now rewarded as he becomes the unquestioned lead back for the next six weeks. Hubbard is the RB8 after two weeks, and while that may be a little high for him, he should still see consistent RB2 value. The team is working out Austin Ekeler Wednesday, and even if they sign him, he and AJ Dillon are clearly in the backseat to him.
