Talk about a fresh start. In addition to getting a new head coach and stadium this year, the Buffalo Bills are also adding a new alternate uniform.
The team revealed its "Nickel City" look Monday, July 27 − a fairly bold departure from the franchise's traditional look and one meant to celebrate its hometown. The jersey and pants are both predominantly gray with the team's familiar red, white and blue palette used for the jersey numbers. However, the most striking element is the blue "Charge Helmet," adorned simply with an oversized cutout of the team's familiar logo − namely the horn and eye and the red stripe meant to depict a charging buffalo emanating from it − plus metallic blue flakes.

"The design is a tribute to the strength, grit and authenticity of Western New York's hard-working people throughout history," the Bills said on their website, adding the new unis are inspired by the Buffalo Nickel.
"Visual inspiration came from the steel mills, grain elevators and rail yards, which are foundational to the city's place in history. It's also a celebration of the blue-collar men and women who built the team's new home, Highmark Stadium."

The Bills, led by former MVP Josh Allen and rookie coach Joe Brady, previously their offensive coordinator, open their new building on Thursday, Sept. 17, against the Detroit Lions. Buffalo did not announce when the "Nickel City" uniforms will debut.
