Shake Shack's new Halloween shake has caused quite a stir.
When the reported nutrition information about the burger chain's latest offering began to circulate online, plenty of people, including the Department of Health and Human Services, had something to say about it.
Video game and entertainment news outlet Dexerto reported – to the dismay of some – that Shake Shack's Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Shake contained 1,900 calories in a Sept. 2 X post.

Dozens of others followed suit, sharing their thoughts on either the number of calories, or the amount of sugar in the shake, in the comment
section. Others criticized Shake Shack for releasing the drink in the first place.
"First bite tastes like heaven, second bite takes you there," one user wrote in response to the agency's reaction.
Another added: "Shake shack shaking things up with the 'heart attack shake' with enough sugar and calories to send your mortality down the drain."
Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Shake debuted at restaurants nationwide Sept. 1, a day before chatter surrounding the shake's nutritional value began. According to Shake Shack, the "sweet and salty crackable shake" will only be available for a limited time.
Shake Shack added: "It’s a Halloween treat worth adding to the rotation all season long, no costume required."
Shake Shack did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for a full-calorie breakdown of the shake. Nutrition information for the shake has not been posted to the Shake Shack website.

From Reese's Pieces to Reese's Creamy Peanut Butter, Shake Shack's "newest crackable shack" features just about every Reese's product you can think of.
According to Shake Shack, the dessert is made with vanilla-flavored frozen custard, Reese's Creamy Peanut Butter and fudge sauce, a crackable dark chocolate shell, whipped cream, Reese's Mini Peanut Butter Cups and chopped Reese’s Pieces.
