Another week, another winning record for Microsoft Copilot AI when it came to picking the result of every NFL game.
The chatbot posted a winning record with its picks for a fifth consecutive week to open the season. It logged a 9-5-1 record, and had some impressive calls with its picks. Notably, it correctly forecasted the New York Jets earning a victory over the Cleveland Browns
in a defensive struggle.Of course, not everything was perfect. Copilot's biggest upset pick, the Las Vegas Raiders, were blown out by the New England Patriots. The chatbot also had no shot at correctly predicting the New York Giants vs. Washington Commanders game, which ended in a mind-numbing tie.
Still, Copilot will look to continue its winning ways in Week 6 as USA
TODAY Sports continues its experiment of having the chatbot pick the results of every NFL game.
A simple process was used to gather Copilot's picks. The AI chatbot was fed the following prompt, which helped it generate its Week 6 picks.
- Can you predict the results of every Week 6 game for the 2026 NFL season and explain your logic for each prediction?
Copilot endured few issues interpreting the prompt. The lone exception was the occasional moments when the chatbot provided outdated information and struggled to identify the latest injury news.
Those small mistakes weren't surprising, as some Large Language Models (LLMs) struggle to keep up with the latest sports news and updates. So, when Copilot produced errors, it was merely asked to fix them and reassess the prompt.
Below is a summation of Copilot's picks for Week 6, along with a brief, human-crafted analysis of each of the chatbot's answers.
NFL Week 6 picks: AI predicts scores for every game
- Copilot's Week 5 results: 9-5-1
- Copilot's 2026 season record: 50-28-1
Seattle Seahawks 24, Denver Broncos 20
AI's take: Winning on the road on a short week is "tricky," as Copilot noted, but the chatbot is happy to back Seattle after it "established itself as a contender" early in the season. Copilot also expressed confidence in Denver's defense but noted it "trusts Seattle's offensive firepower" to generate enough to earn a win.
Our take: The Broncos could certainly win this game if it devolves into a defensive struggle, but it's otherwise hard to trust Bo Nix and Denver's shaky offense to mount a strong showing. With that in mind, the Seahawks should win.
Jacksonville Jaguars 27, Houston Texans 21
AI's take: Copilot likes the "big-play potential" of the Jaguars' offense in this matchup with the Texans. It also pointed to Jacksonville's history of success in London and being the "stronger overall team" as reasons the Jaguars will win this matchup.
Our take: The Texans defense rounded back into form in Week 5, but that was against Cam Ward and the lowly Tennessee Titans. Liam Coen's offense will provide Houston a much tougher test, so the Jaguars deserve to have a slight edge over their underperforming divisional rival.
Chicago Bears 30, Atlanta Falcons 23
AI's take: Copilot referred to the Bears as "one of the NFC's rising teams" despite their 31-7 loss to the Packers in Week 5. It also stated the Bears' defense would have a chance to "generate a couple of key takeaways" in its analysis of the game.
Our take: Copilot didn't specify whether it believed Michael Penix Jr. or Tua Tagovailoa would start this game for the Falcons, but its latter assertion indicates it might believe Tagovailoa will get the nod. Either way, the Bears may get Caleb Williams back for this matchup, which would raise their ceiling and put them in prime, bounce-back territory.
Baltimore Ravens 24, Cleveland Browns 17
AI's take: Copilot is expecting Lamar Jackson to return to the field in Week 6. It noted his "ability to create explosive plays" would have a major impact on the matchup but also noted that Cleveland's defense should keep the matchup "close."
Our take: The Browns just struggled to generate much offensively against the Jets, who sacked Deshaun Watson eight times. The Ravens' defense should position the team to win again, regardless of whether Jackson or Tyler Huntley is quarterbacking the team.
Indianapolis Colts 27, Tennessee Titans 16
AI's take: Copilot doesn't seem to like the Titans, or Cam Ward, much. The chatbot said the Colts have "a significant quarterback and roster advantage" and expects them to "control the trenches" against their divisional rival.
Our take: The quarterback matchup in this game doesn't look very enticing, as Ward and Daniel Jones both rank bottom-four in passer rating among 31 qualified quarterbacks. That said, Shane Steichen should be able to scheme up opportunities for Jonathan Taylor to do damage against the Titans, giving the Colts the edge in this matchup.
New England Patriots 23, New York Jets 13
AI's take: Two factors are leading Copilot to side with the Patriots. The chatbot said it "has questions" about the Jets offense and wants to back New England since it is playing at home in Foxborough for Week 6.
Our take: Interestingly, Copilot opined "New England has exceeded expectations" to open the season. Perhaps it is referring to the Patriots' two-game turnaround after a disappointing 1-2 start. Either way, the reigning AFC champions should have an edge on the Jets, especially if A.J. Brown is able to return to action this week.
New York Giants 21, New Orleans Saints 20
AI's take: Copilot is expecting the Giants-Saints game to be a tight battle. Ultimately, it decided to roll with the Giants, highlighting their "improving offense" as "providing a slight advantage" over an inconsistent Saints team.
Our take: The Jameis Winston vs. Tyler Shough quarterback battle should be entertaining, as each has shown a willingness to throw often and take chances during the early stages of the season. The Giants are performing at a better clip right now, so Copilot's pick of New York is a sensible decision.
Philadelphia Eagles 28, Carolina Panthers 24
AI's take: Copilot noted the Eagles have "underperformed" to open the season but the chatbot believes the team "still possesses elite talent." It also doesn't like that the Panthers are on the road and it opined the Eagles' offensive line would "wear down" Carolina late in the contest.
Our take: OK, Copilot may not be aware of the issues the Eagles are enduring along the offensive line, where Lane Johnson retired, Landon Dickerson remains out with an injury and Cam Jurgens was traded to the Ravens. Those issues, plus the shaky health of DeVonta Smith and Saquon Barkley, should allow the well-rested Panthers to earn a win following their early-season bye.
Pittsburgh Steelers 20, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16
AI's take: There's nothing Copilot loves more than predicting "a physical, lower-scoring game" when the Steelers are in action. The chatbot said Pittsburgh's defense "is built to travel" and should limit an inconsistent Tampa Bay offense.
Our take: Jalon Daniels and Bucky Irving put together an admirable showing against the Cowboys in Week 5, but their Week 6 matchup against the Steelers will provide them more of a test. Copilot's projection seems just about right. Expect the Steelers to win a lower-scoring game.
Los Angeles Rams 34, Arizona Cardinals 20
AI's take: Despite their 2-3 record, Copilot is bullish about the Rams. It said Los Angeles has "a significant coaching advantage and strong offensive weapons" that should allow it to keep the Cardinals at an arm's length, despite Arizona sporting a solid offense.
Our take: Copilot may change its tune a bit after Sean McVay's endgame struggles against the Bills on "Monday Night Football," but the Rams still undoubtedly have the edge in this matchup. However, Mike LaFleur's familiarity with the Rams could keep this closer than Copilot projects.
Kansas City Chiefs 28, Los Angeles Chargers 21
AI's take: The Chiefs are "the team to beat in the AFC West," according to Copilot. It did give Chargers fans a modicum of hope though, saying Los Angeles has "enough talent to make this interesting."
Our take: Copilot is being a bit too kind with that analysis of the Chargers. Los Angeles' offense is a mess, as Justin Herbert and Mike McDaniel haven't meshed, and injuries have decimated the Chargers' offensive line and receiver rooms. Don't expect a bounce-back against the Chiefs. A blow-out is far more likely.
Buffalo Bills 31, Las Vegas Raiders 24
AI's take: Once again, Copilot is singing the praises of Josh Allen. It loves his "ability to extend plays" and thinks the Bills will be able to "create matchup problems" for the Raiders' defense.
Our take: The Raiders have come back down to earth after a fast start to the season. Buffalo's offense is hard to contain, so this is expected to be another high-scoring game that the Bills emerge from victoriously. Well done, Copilot!
Green Bay Packers 30, Dallas Cowboys 27
AI's take: Avert your eyes, Cowboys fans. Copilot has Dallas falling to 2-4 at the hands of Green Bay, stating that the Packers' "offensive balance" would help them win "one of the week's best matchups."
Our take: Are the Packers really a balanced team offensively? They rank last in rushing yards per game with a paltry total of 60.4, so it's hard to buy that argument. Even so, Copilot is on the right side here, albeit with the wrong process. Jordan Love's explosive downfield passing capabilities should make it hard for the Cowboys' bottom-ranked defense to contain the Packers.
San Francisco 49ers 27, Washington Commanders 17
AI's take: Copilot lauded the 49ers for having "one of the NFL's most complete rosters." It also expressed confidence that the 49ers would be able to disrupt the Commanders' offense with their defensive front.
Our take: The Commanders are coming off a grueling tie during which Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels badly botched an endgame sequence to deny Washington a chance to win. It will be hard for the team to recover emotionally in time to challenge the undefeated 49ers on the road in prime time.
