Pittsburgh International Airport nabbed a top spot among North America's best medium airports based on its customer satisfaction scores, according to a recent study by JD Power.
Pittsburgh International Airport was ranked among other medium-sized airports, or airports that see approximately 4.5 to 9.9 million passengers a year. Here's how it scored.
How did Pittsburgh International Airport rank among North America's best?
JD Power ranked Pittsburgh at No. 8 among North America's best medium airports based on the service's Overall Customer Satisfaction Index, with Pit scoring 672 out of a possible 1,000.
The No. 1 sport when to Charleston International Airport, which scored 712. Ontario International Airport came in second with a score of 705, while Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport was third with a score of 695.
The study also scored mega airports serving 33 million passengers or more per year, as well as large airports with 10 to 32.9 million passengers a year.
How airports were scored in JD Power rankings
Between July 2025 and July 2026, the data analytics and consumer company looked at nearly 25,000 surveys from U.S. and Canadian residents who had flown in the previous 30 days. Airports were scored based on factors that included:
- Passengers' ease of travel through them
- Passengers' level of trust with the airports
- Terminal facilities
- Airport staff
- Departure and to airport experience
- In-airport shopping and dining experience
- Arrival and from airport experience
