Scottie Scheffler is +350. That works out to about a 22% chance and nobody else on the board is shorter than +900. He finished the regular season No. 1 in points and took the $10 million bonus that goes with it, so the number is not much of a leap.

Getting to the trophy is the hard part. Seventy players qualified. Fifty survive Memphis. Thirty make it to East Lake in Atlanta for the finale Aug. 27-30. So a guy sitting at 300-1 has to play his way through two cuts before he even gets to the week that decides it.

Patrick Cantlay won the FedEx Cup in 2021 and he is 80-1. J.T. Poston starts the playoffs 30th, the last spot that would get him to East Lake, and he is 125-1. Jackson Koivun, the 21-year-old rookie who took the final playoff spot, is right there with him.
