What to look for in a vacuum
Each of the options on sale from well-known providers this Prime Day will offer a variety of features. We've listed some that you should be on the lookout for when you shop:
- Suction power: Vacuums with good suction power will be able to remove fine dust, pet hair and other stubborn messes. Look for brands that advertise this.
- Filtration: HEPA filters and small particle effectiveness are hallmarks of a solid design.
- Battery life: We recommend a vacuum that offers 45 minutes to an hour of continuous run time. Sometimes shorter run times come with replaceable batteries as a viable compromise.
- Attachments: Different vacuum heads and conversion to a handheld unit are other factors to consider. If you have a large home with lots of small or odd areas to clean, this adaptability is key.
- Warranty and brand reputation: Customer reviews and warranty offerings are other important things to look for. You don't have to buy from the top brand on the market if a product you're looking at has thousands of positive reviews and offers a comprehensive manufacturer's warranty.
