Washington's offense has been running out of healthy quarterbacks, and getting its starter back gives the Commanders a chance to look functional again. Assuming he moves comfortably, I like the added stress he puts on New York's defense. The Giants are 3-1, but last week's 12-point win included a 98-yard interception return as time expired. That game was considerably closer than the final suggests. Jameis Winston brings touchdowns and turnovers – sometimes in the same breath – and I expect Washington to have opportunities to capitalize. Terry McLaurin's availability matters, too. With Daniels back, I'll reluctantly take
the home team by the slimmest of margins.
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz: Commanders 23, Giants 21
All signs point to Jayden Daniels' return for the Commanders, thereby averting a batle of the backups. His presence seems nothing short of vital for a penalty-prone group that already appears to be at an inflection point. New York has proven much more adept at navigating turbulence after prevailing in both of Jameis Winston's starts. Still, if Washington can avoid turnovers against a New York defense that's been propped up by its eight takeaways, it could escape with a needed win.
Blake Schuster: Giants 24, Commanders 20
Jayden Daniels with his non-throwing arm in a brace vs. Jameis Winston at full strength is a matchup worth watching just to see what happens. It's probably not one worth betting on. I don't trust either of these squads right now, but the Giants have the better collection of talent available while the Commanders seem like they're just winging it until something clicks. The NFC East is a mess.
