Few things feel like a Thursday night.
At this point, only one day remains in the school week and just one day remains in the traditional work week, before endless possibilities await. You can feel the anticipation building in a way that is almost better than the actual feeling of a weekend.
It just so happens that Thursday nights in the fall come with an added bonus – football.
For the last five weeks, NFL fans have been treated to a tour around the league and the globe. It all started with a Week 1 matchup in Australia before the "Thursday Night Football" schedule returned stateside as the Buffalo Bills played their first regular-season game at the new Highmark Stadium in Week 2. Week 3 featured the first home-opening loss for the Green Bay Packers
at Lambeau Field since 2012. Then the Cleveland Browns took sole possession of first place in the AFC North at the time with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Then last week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pulled off a stunning upset over the Dallas Cowboys. What awaits in Week 6?
Here's what to know about this week's matchup and NFL schedule:

Is there a Thursday Night Football game tonight?
Yes, there is a "Thursday Night Football" game on Oct. 15.
The Denver Broncos are hosting the Seattle Seahawks in the Week 6 edition of "Thursday Night Football." It marks the first matchup between the two teams since 2024, when Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald noted his team used fan videos from Broncos training camp to scout the team.
Of course, it's also a rematch of Super Bowl 48 – something that will forever tie these teams together.
Both teams hope their seasons end in the Super Bowl again this year, even if neither team is off
Neither team has looked impressive in the early going despite posting 3-2 records through five weeks. Sean Payton is already calling plays again for the Bo Nix-led offense, which struggled to produce with Davis Webb calling the shots. Unfortunately for Denver, Payton's return to calling plays didn't go much better and signaled perhaps a larger issue with the Broncos' offense.
As for the Seahawks, they have been up-and-down coming off a Super Bowl win. There are plenty of moving parts in Seattle, starting with the offensive coordinator change after Klint Kubiak departed for the head coaching gig in Vegas. Losing a star running back to free agency didn't help either.
But that was then, and this is now.
The past won't help either team find a victory in Week 6 and both teams need to start stacking wins before the division races slip too far away.
This week's "TNF" game is scheduled for its usual kickoff time of 8:15 p.m. ET and will air nationally on Amazon Prime Video. Local fans for each team will be able to watch the game on a local cable network.
