Halloween is less than 30 days away, and costumes are flying off shelves.
On Oct. 1, Spirit Halloween released its annual Halloween Costume Trend Report, analyzing the most popular costumes for this year's spooky season. Popular movies, television shows and books dominate this year's list, including characters from Prime Video's hit romance series "Off Campus," the "Toy Story" lineup, and Greek gods and warriors, many of which appear inspired by Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey."
"People often ask how we predict Halloween trends. The reality is we're watching them develop all year long," Kym Sarkos, Spirit Halloween executive vice president, said in a news release. "From blockbuster entertainment and gaming to social media and nostalgia, our team
is constantly tracking what's capturing attention so we can be ready with the looks fans want most."
Here's a closer look at this year's trending costumes, according to Spirit Halloween.
What are the most popular costumes at Spirit Halloween this year?
According to a Spirit Halloween news release, these are the top-selling Halloween costumes for the year:
- Officially licensed jerseys and varsity jackets.
- Looks inspired by the Prime Video series "Off Campus," like Allie's party jumpsuit, Hannah's bunny costume and Graham's hockey uniform.
- "Toy Story" characters like Woody, Buzz, Jessie and Slinky the Dog for the whole family.

- "KPop Demon Hunters" continue to be fan favorites.
- Superheroes like Spider-Man and Power Rangers.

- Mythological characters featuring Greek armor and floating cloaks, many inspired by Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey."
- High-fantasy dragon rider or rogue adventurer with battle armor, shadowy cloaks and dragon-inspired accessories, including Dungeon Crawler Carl from Matt Dinniman's sci-fi fantasy book series of the same name.
- Hardcore horror inspired by viral internet moments like the Async hazmat suit from "Backrooms" and old-school slashers like Billy the Puppet from "Saw".

- Video game-inspired looks like franchises such as "Halo" and "Fortnite."
- Inflatables, giant mascot heads and novelty, meme-worthy fits.
