Trisha Yearwood in 2025: I'm in the 'best shape of my life'
The rare red-carpet outing prompted renewed attention to her slimmer appearance. The "She's in Love with the Boy" singer has
discussed her weight and fitness approach in past interviews, telling USA TODAY how she's learned to take better care of herself on her journey.
Speaking with USA TODAY in July 2025, Yearwood described being in the "best shape of my life" and credited attention to everyday habits.
"I drink a lot of water and get my sleep, all the things I didn't do in my 20s and 30s", the "How Do I Live" artist said.
The interview came ahead of her performance at Macy's Fourth of July celebration and the release of her album "The Mirror." Yearwood said the project marked the first time she co-wrote every song on an album.
Trisha Yearwood opens up about her weight loss
Yearwood's weight-loss struggles have been a topic of interest for well over a decade.
She opened up about her experience in an April 2013 People interview, where she discussed losing 30 pounds over four months. She said she chose foods lower in fat and sugar 90% of the time while leaving room for her favorite foods.
"I don't think you can name one diet I haven't done. I'm that girl who buys every magazine where somebody's lost 30 lbs.," Yearwood told the outlet. "I guess a part of me didn't want to hear that it's just really hard work!"

Her routine also included Zumba classes at least three times a week, and Yearwood eventually went from a size 14 to a size 10.
"I have a strength I never had before," she said. "I feel like I can do anything."

In an August 2013 CBS News interview, Yearwood said she used food to cope after her mother's death and grew "tired of feeling tired."
"My mom passed away from breast cancer in October of 2011. I lived with her for a couple of months. And I ate," the "Walkaway Joe" artist told the outlet. "That was my coping mechanism, you know? I just ate. And for that whole year, I just didn't care."
Those accounts describe her experience in 2013, more than a decade before her latest gala appearance.
