Son Heung-min scored a beautiful free kick in South Korea's first match since the World Cup on Thursday, Sept. 24. The Taegeuk Warriors were facing Ecuador in a friendly at Suwon World Cup Stadium and won 3-0.
In the 58th minute, the captain was given a free kick. He lined up on the left side of the penalty box, trotted up to the ball and smacked it with his right foot. The ball went sailing into the air in a perfect arc. It floated over the group of players and beyond the reach of a leaping Hernán Galíndez, Ecuador's goalkeeper, landing in the top right corner of the net, making a swish.
Son, 34, smiled brightly and spread his arms to his side as his teammates came to pat him on the back. He then formed his fingers
into his signature photo frame celebration.

The goal put South Korea up 2-0 and landed Son within one score of becoming the national team's all-time goal scorer. Cha Bum-kun holds the title with 58 goals.
This summer, South Korea failed to advance out of the group stage in the World Cup. Son did not score in the three matches.
The former Tottenham star bounced back with LAFC when the MLS season ensued after the tournament, scoring twice in his first MLS All-Star Game.
Off the pitch, Son recently supported fellow Korean superstars BTS and attended one of the Los Angeles stops of their Arirang tour.
