"High Potential" star Matthew Lamb is coping with the death of his mom.
The 14-year-old actor wrote in an Oct. 19 Instagram post that his mother died on Saturday, Oct. 17. The carousel included family photos of Matthew Lamb with his mom, Meredith Lamb, dad Greg Lamb and sisters Regan and Alyssa Lamb.
"I'm not quite sure how to write this. As I’m sure many of you know, my mama passed away this Saturday. She was everything to me," he wrote. "She taught me school, she taught me empathy, she did everything for our family. She always had the biggest smile and she gave the best hugs. Truly the most selfless person I know."
He acknowledged that her death "still doesn’t feel real," adding, "I'm not sure it ever will."
"She loved and supported everyone authentically.
I’m not sure how we’re going to get through this, but we're going to try," Lamb continued. "Every day I’m going to miss telling her about my day and talking to her and watching our favorite shows."
He concluded his tribute by writing, "This isn’t something I ever thought I would have to do. There's so much she is going to miss in my life, but I'm grateful for the things she was able to experience. I love you, Mama."
Meredith Lamb, "a lifelong performer," grew up doing local theater productions in Kansas City, Missouri, before attending the University of Iowa on a ballet scholarship. She offered private coaching through the Broadway Artists Alliance and specialized in "child-centered acting."
The BAA also shared the news of Meredith Lamb's death in a social media post that remembered her as someone who "poured her entire heart into this community. She took tremendous pride and joy in being everyone's biggest cheerleader, a trusted resource, a source of unwavering encouragement, and, above all, a dear friend."
Her husband, Greg Lamb, shared in a Facebook post that the funeral will be held in Overland Park, Kansas.
The news of Meredith Lamb's death comes months before "High Potential," in which Matthew Lamb plays Morgan Gillory's (Kaitlin Olson) son Elliot Radovic, is scheduled to return to ABC next year, as the network previously announced.
Olson responded to Matthew Lamb's post with a comment that read: "Your mama was such a gift, Matthew. She simply overflowed with joy and kindness…and the way she lit up when she looked at you….that can’t ever be taken away. You are forever her pride and joy. I am here for you forever. ♥️"
Meredith Lamb is survived by her three children, Regan, Alyssa and Matthew, and her husband, Greg.
