The biggest stage for Illinois flag football has arrived.
The 2026 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) flag football postseason in the Land of Lincoln kicks off on Tuesday, Sept. 29. In two weeks, a state champion will be crowned at Villa Park on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Palatine won the state championship in 2024, the first year the IHSA sanctioned flag football in the state, while Maine South is the defending state champion.
However, St. Charles was the top-ranked team in the final Illinois flag football rankings, while Willowbrook — the host for the state championship games — is No. 2 heading into the postseason.

- Regional quarterfinals: Tuesday, Sept. 29 to Thursday, Oct. 1
- Regional semifinals: Monday, Oct. 5
- Regional finals: Wednesday, Oct. 7
- Sectional semifinals: Saturday, Oct. 10
- Sectional finals (Super 16): Monday, Oct. 12 and Tuesday, Oct. 13
- State quarterfinals: Friday, Oct. 16 (at Villa Park)
- State semifinals: Saturday, Oct. 17 (at Villa Park)
