Nico O'Reilly was a late scratch from Manchester City's lineup against Coventry City on Saturday, Sept. 5.
The England international was initially named in the starting lineup, but was injured during the warm-up.
The injury saw O'Reilly replaced by Enzo Fernández, who makes his City debut just days after completing a transfer from Chelsea.
The Argentina international wasn't the only new signing to start right away for City, as Iliman Ndiaye also started after making a move from Everton on deadline day.
Losing O'Reilly for any period of time would be a blow for new City coach Enzo Maresca. The 21-year-old was an ever-present for City last season and had started all three of the team's games so far this season.
O'Reilly also appeared in seven matches
for England at the 2026 World Cup, starting five of them.
