Harris County sheriff's deputies are investigating after a vehicle operated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents struck a man in the Houston area Saturday morning, authorities said.
The crash happened around 7:20 a.m. on Clay Road, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
"Preliminary indications are that a vehicle operated by ICE authorities struck a man," the sheriff's office said in a post on X.
The man was taken to a local hospital. His condition was not immediately known, and authorities have not released additional details about the crash.

Commissioner calls for transparency
Harris County Commissioner Lesley Briones said she was horrified to learn about the incident and called on ICE to cooperate with investigators and release video evidence.
"ICE must cooperate
fully with the Harris County Sheriff's Office and release all video evidence of this incident," Briones said in a statement. "We demand full transparency, accountability, and respect for the rule of law."
Briones also criticized the Trump administration's immigration enforcement policies and said her prayers were with the man's family as authorities work to establish what happened.

The collision appears to have occurred while ICE agents were conducting an enforcement action in the area, the sheriff's office said.
