Ryan Jung, the No. 1 kicker in the Class of 2028, will officially be in Ann Arbor next fall.
The Michigan football commit announced his decision reclassify to the Class of 2027 on Wednesday, Nov. 4, as first reported by Rivals.
Jung, who transferred to Milton High School (GA) from IMG Academy (FL) ahead of this season, has been committed to Michigan since June. He moved to the United States from South Korea just six years ago.
However, he almost didn't play this season. Jung was originally ruled ineligible by the Georgia High School Athletic Association after his transfer, but the ruling was flipped two weeks later.
Earlier this season, he kicked the game-winning 47-yard field goal in Milton's 49-46 upset victory over Gainesville (GA). Jung also
cashed in a 50-yarder with 0.1 seconds left in the first half, recording his two longest kicks of the season.
Jung confirmed that his longest field goal to date is a 70-yarder that he made in practice.
Jung's reclassification comes at a time when Michigan is struggling at the kicking position. Trey Butkowski, a Pitt transfer, has made just 6-of-10 field goals this year and has gone 2-for-6 in the Wolverines' past two games.
Milton will close out its regular season on Friday, Nov. 6, against Roswell with the Class 6A Region 7 title on the line. If the Eagles secure the top-seed, they will have home-field advantage for the first round of playoffs.
