As her missing mother's case remains unsolved, Savannah Guthrie and her husband are returning to an annual tradition of enjoying the US Open Tennis Championships.
Guthrie and her husband of 12 years, Mike Feldman, were in the stands as Germany's Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton of the U.S. faced off during the men's singles final on Sunday, Sept. 13. Fans who hoped to see Shelton end the decades-long streak of Grand Slam losses for male U.S. players were disappointed when Zverev took home the win.
The outing came nearly three weeks after Guthrie made her first red carpet appearance since Nancy Guthrie was disappeared in what's being investigated as a "possible kidnapping or abduction," according to authorities. The "Today" show cohost stepped
out with Feldman to attend Roger Federer's exhibition match against Andy Roddick on Aug. 25.
Other star couples who attended the men's final on Sept. 13 included John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, Ali and Jalen Brunson, newlyweds Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods, Jeff and Lauren Sanchéz Bezos, and Brad Pitt and Ines de Ramon.
Jerry Seinfeld, Courteney Cox, Kevin Hart, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Rami Malek, Martha Stewart and Pierce Brosnan were also in the stands to witness the action.
Savannah Guthrie, a longtime tennis fan who played a charity match against celebrity crush Federer in 2018, has been a staple at the US Open over the past decade. She and Feldman attended the men's singles semifinals in 2025.
A week before their date night, Guthrie returned to anchoring duties with Craig Melvin on "Today" after a two-week break from the NBC show. Earlier in the summer, she stepped away for several weeks to film a new game show based on The New York Times' hit game Wordle.
Guthrie took a two-month absence between February and April as the investigation into her mother's disappearance unfolded in southern Arizona. Aside from various DNA evidence and images of a male suspect seen in home surveillance footage, updates from local and federal authorities have been scant in recent months.
A reward totaling more than $1.2 million has been offered for information leading to Nancy Guthrie's recovery. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI or tips.fbi.gov, the Pima County Sheriff's Department (520-351-4900) or 88-CRIME.
