Welcome to the $2 billion club, Spidey.
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" has become only the eighth film in history to gross $2 billion worldwide. The Marvel blockbuster reached the milestone in its third weekend of release after collecting another $70 million domestically and $118.7 million overseas, bringing its global total to a jaw-dropping $2.022 billion, according to Sony.
This makes "Brand New Day" the second-fastest film to reach $2 billion, behind only 2019's "Avengers: Endgame." The hit film is also now the highest-grossing "Spider-Man" movie of all time worldwide after passing the $1.9 billion haul of 2021's "Spider-Man: No Way Home."
"Brand
New Day" is just the third film this decade to reach $2 billion worldwide, and the first American movie to hit the milestone in nearly four years. The only other $2 billion releases of the 2020s so far are the 2022 sci-fi sequel "Avatar: The Way of Water" and the 2025 Chinese animated hit "Ne Zha 2."
Starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, "Brand New Day" has been breaking a slew of records since opening in theaters on July 31 and blowing all box office expectations out of the water. Holland's fourth solo outing as Peter Parker stunned with the biggest opening weekend in domestic box office history: $360 million, topping the previous record-holder, "Avengers: Endgame" ($357 million).
In its second weekend, "Brand New Day" collected another $144 million domestically, more than most other 2026 releases grossed in their first weekend, with the exception of "Toy Story 5." It easily repeated at No. 1 again in its third weekend, topping the new Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway sci-fi thriller "The End of Oak Street," which debuted at No. 3 with $21 million, according to Rentrak.

At the domestic box office, "Brand New Day" is now the fourth highest-grossing movie of all time with $785.8 million, behind only "Spider-Man: No Way Home," "Avengers: Endgame" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." It is the fastest film ever to hit $500 million in North American theaters, doing so in just seven days.
If it passes $936 million in the coming weeks, "Brand New Day" would become the new highest-grossing movie of all time in North America, a record 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has held for more than a decade.
