The Tampa Bay Rays are marching on to the American League Championship Series.
The Rays swept the New York Yankees in the division series, setting up a best-of-seven game series against the winner of the ALDS between the Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Guardians.

The Yankees offense woke up in Game 3, but it wasn't enough. Rays' Ryan Vilade and Victor Mesa Jr. are responsible for the win with a solo shot from Vilade and a 2-run homer from Mesa Jr. in the sixth inning that silenced the Bronx.

Should the Rays conquer the rest of the American League in the postseason, they would head to the organization's third World Series appearance, ever. The Rays won it all in 2008, but lost it to the Dodgers in the shortened 2020 season. As with the other series, the team with the best record will earn home-field advantage. The Rays would need to take on the Braves or Padres in order to earn home field, and would start the series on the road against the Brewers or Dodgers.
