Patents filed by Ford hint at a next-generation Bronco model, according to Car And Driver. An SUV that resembles a Ford Bronco model is featured in two separate patents. One of the patents features a modular storage system for removable door panels (which makes sense for a future Bronco).
The other patent is for adjustments that would make it easier for drivers to sleep inside or on top of the vehicle, which would also
be a reasonable addition to a redesigned Bronco model.
Ford has not officially announced a next-generation Bronco. but they have teased premium version of the 2027 model year called the Filson.
The automotive world anticipates that the next iteration of the off-road SUV will go into production in late 2029 as a 2030 model year. The SUV isn't being redesigned anytime soon, though there are few reasons why Ford should update the nameplate within the next few years.

New vehicles tend to get redesigned every five to eight years to increase their chances of being competitive. Models that don't get redesigned every five to eight years run the risk of offering antiquated standard equipment and technology, giving rivals the upper hand.
Ford's Bronco nameplate is due for a redesign because it has been around five years since the SUV returned from a long hiatus. Furthermore, one of its main competitors, the Jeep Wrangler is due for a redesign, and beating Jeep to the punch could give Ford a huge competitive edge.
An infotainment system and standard features upgrade as well as a complete interior and exterior redesign could help the Bronco appeal to consumers looking for the most value possible within the midsize SUV segment.

The 2026 Ford Bronco starts at $40,795. It comes in two-door and four-door models and is available in seven different trims.
Ford's midsize SUV uses a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine to produce 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. The Bronco achieves 20 miles per gallon in the city and 21 miles per gallon on the highway.
Ford's Bronco has exceptional off-road capability. Trims like the Badlands and Raptor are specifically designed for extreme off-roading.
