Ed Sheeran's explanation for Macklemore's removal from his Loop Tour has not quieted the backlash – and Hannah Einbinder has a painfully specific punishment in mind.
The "Hacks" star joined a growing list of entertainers, activists and political figures criticizing the fallout after Macklemore was dropped from the tour following his pro-Palestinian remarks during a performance on Sept. 4 at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium.
Sheeran said in an Instagram statement that removing Macklemore was the promoter's decision, not his. He said upcoming venues had threatened to cancel the concerts if the rapper remained on the lineup and that his efforts to broker a solution were unsuccessful.
"I am not complicit," Sheeran wrote, adding that he chooses to keep
his shows from becoming political forums.
Macklemore, meanwhile, said stadium owner Robert Kraft – whose Kraft Group owns Gillette Stadium – pressured the tour to remove him from upcoming shows due to his past performances.

Hannah Einbinder wishes Ed Sheeran a 'really bad' sunburn
Einbinder shared a screenshot of a headline about Sheeran's reported net worth of $400 million on her Instagram story before invoking their shared hair color.
"Ed Sheeran I say this as a ginger. I hope you get a REALLY bad sun burn," she wrote, specifying "the kind on the back of your entire body where it hurts to lie down or walk or sit."
Einbinder also responded to Macklemore's Instagram statement by commenting a bunch of heart emojis in support.
Kehlani praises Macklemore
Kehlani said other venues and their owners have organized in similar ways."A LOT of the venues / owners are rallied together this way," the singer wrote beneath Macklemore's post. "Honored to know you brother. adore you. behind you!!!!"
Roger Waters calls out Ed Sheeran
Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters posted a video on X saying the "Shape of You" singer had "done the wrong thing."
He began the video by saying: "This is a little message for Ed Sheeran."
"There's two kinds of people in this world, Ed. There's people who do the right thing. That rapper Macklemore would be one of those people," Water's then continued to say. "And there's people, many of them, sadly, little… excuse me, I nearly used the F-word then – [people] like you, who do the wrong thing."
Paloma Faith calls Macklemore a 'hero'
Paloma Faith described Macklemore as a "rare and important voice."
"Thank you for existing… This is so articulate and so powerful," she commented. "You are a hero."
Greta Thunberg criticizes artists' silence
Climate activist Greta Thunberg offered Macklemore her "full solidarity" and reiterated her support for Palestine by adding "free Palestine."
"Artists' very active silence in the face of injustice and genocide will not be forgotten," she wrote.
AOC says she will stop listening to Ed Sheeran
In a video released by TMZ, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says she would no longer listen to Sheeran following Macklemore's removal.
"When you see what Robert Kraft did to line up all of the stadiums to censor speech in that one specific way, it's become clear that this is not just about one music artist or two music artists, but this is about how just a handful of stadium owners and the elite can prevent an entire massive issue, in this case the genocide in Gaza," Ocasio-Cortez said.
Alana Hadid says tour 'caved to pressure'
Alana Hadid, a filmmaker and sister of models Bella and Gigi Hadid, thanked Macklemore for redirecting attention toward Palestinians.
"I'm so disappointed that they caved to Zionist pressure," she wrote, adding, "We are proud of you my brother."
Alyson Stoner says Macklemore's actions will 'reverberate'
Alyson Stoner also expressed support beneath Macklemore's Instagram statement.
"Your action matters and will reverberate," the former Disney Channel star wrote.
Ms. Rachel says Ed Sheeran 'caved'
Children's entertainer Ms. Rachel previously criticized Sheeran in an Instagram post, saying he had an opportunity to demonstrate that artists would not be "bullied into punishing people for supporting Palestine.""Instead he caved to people who refuse to accept what the world knows," she wrote. "A genocide is happening in Gaza. We all need to speak on it."
In a separate post, Accurso wrote, "Imagine looking back 20 years from now at yourself kicking someone off a tour because they spoke out during a genocide that has killed over 20,000 kids." According to the Hamas- run health ministry, Israeli attacks have kills more than 21,000 children, a figure the United Nations considers reliable.
All remaining supporting acts exit Ed Sheeran's tour
Finneas O'Connell, Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham and Irish band Beoga have since withdrawn from Sheeran's tour in solidarity with Macklemore and Palestinians."Artists must not be silenced when they speak up for the oppressed," Finneas wrote on an Instagram statement while announcing his departure. "I stand with Palestine and its people."
Rowe and Lukas Graham were expected to perform during upcoming U.S. dates, while Finneas was scheduled for six South American shows. Beoga had been performing with Sheeran during his concerts.
