It's going to be several weeks before Alabama is really put to the test, but we've got a good ol' SEC showdown in Week 2 when the Crimson Tide heads over to Lexington, Ky. to face the Wildcats.
No. 12 Alabama defeated East Carolina in Week 1, 48-10. The Tide's quarterback Keelon Russell was 18 for 30 and threw for 256 yards. Alabama scored 38 points in the first two quarters. While Russell didn't throw for any touchdowns, he did have one rushing TD and 86 yards. He left the game in the late 4th quarter, when Austin Mack took over.
On the other side of the field, Kentucky defeated Youngstown State, 45-13 on Saturday. The highlight of Kentucky's performance was transfer quarterback Kenny Minchey
who was 18 for 27 with 301 yards and 4 touchdown passes.
