After setting the WNBA single-season scoring record, the Indiana Fever celebrated Kelsey Mitchell in a lively locker-room postgame party.
Mitchell’s clutch three-pointer in the third quarter fueled her way to a 33-point performance, propelling the Fever to a 103-85 victory over the Toronto Tempo and securing the new WNBA season scoring record.
After the game, when Mitchell returned to the locker room, her teammates surprised her by popping confetti containers that showered her during the celebration as they chanted her name, ‘Kelsey!’
After thanking her teammates, Mitchell jokingly asked, “What did I do?” Her teammates enthusiastically replied, “Single-season scoring record!” before breaking out in chants of ‘MVP!’
With this performance, Mitchell’s
season total rose to 1,023 points, surpassing the previous record of 1,021 set by A’ja Wilson in 2024.
Mitchell is averaging 25.2 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game for the Fever.
