Falcons vs Ravens expert picks
Adam Kaufman: Falcons 24, Ravens 20
This pick comes with a pretty important condition: Lamar Jackson either sits or plays with meaningful limitations. If he's moving normally, we're having a different conversation. Atlanta's offense has come alive with Michael Penix Jr., and Bijan Robinson just helped turn the Saints' defense into a traffic cone collection. The Ravens will provide much tougher resistance, but the Falcons can still lean on their running game and keep Penix out of difficult passing situations. Tyler Huntley's capable, though Atlanta would have more freedom to crowd Derrick Henry and force Baltimore to throw. Under the current quarterback uncertainty, I'll take Atlanta at home.
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz: Falcons 28, Ravens 24
No one's enjoyed a sharper
turnaround this season than the Falcons, who have the most points per game (40) in the last two weeks with Michael Penix Jr. at the helm after posting the fewest in the first two weeks (8) while starting Cooper Rush. There might be a regression to the mean coming, but Atlanta could close out its three-week prime-time stint in style against a Ravens team rife with questions. Lamar Jackson's health is the most pressing concern, but a banged-up offensive front looms as another large liability. If Tyler Huntley is forced to start, Baltimore is in for a steep challenge against an Atlanta defense that ranks first in rushing EPA/play allowed and third in pressure rate.
Blake Schuster: Falcons 24, Ravens 21
I'm assuming both teams will try to run each other into the ground, and I'm here for it. Derrick Henry vs. the Robinsons on Sunday Night Football is some good ol' fashioned smash mouth football. If only John Madden were in the booth. The Falcons squeak this one out in overtime.
