Savannah Guthrie is celebrating her daughter's birthday.
The "Today" show coanchor, 54, posted a sweet Instagram tribute Thursday, Aug. 13, wishing daughter Vale, whom she shares with husband Michael Feldman, a happy 12th birthday. Guthrie and Feldman are also parents to 9-year-old son Charley.
"On this day, 12 years ago," she wrote alongside a series of photos from the day Vale was born. "I will never forget this joy. Happy birthday to my dearest Vale, growing up so beautiful, kind, soulful and wise. ❤️ I thank God for you every day."
Earlier that morning, Guthrie gave her eldest child a shoutout on the NBC talk show when weatherman Al Roker acknowledged the birthdays of "Today" Show Plaza guests, with the mom-of-two declaring, "You know who else?
My daughter, Vale! Happy birthday!”
Feldman marked the special day on his social media as well, posting a photo of a younger Vale kissing him on the cheek with the caption, "Happy Birthday, Vale! 12 years old, a young lady now, but you will always be my little girl. ❤️🎈"
Nancy Guthrie remains missing six months later
The birthday comes less than two weeks after Guthrie marked six months since her mother Nancy Guthrie went missing. The 84-year-old disappeared from her Arizona home in the early hours of Feb. 1 in what authorities have described as a suspected kidnapping-for-ransom, and the investigation remains active.
Savannah Guthrie and her family have since made numerous pleas for information from the public, offering a reward of up to $1 million for any information that could lead to their mother's safe return.
On July 27, Guthrie posted a "very specific message" to her Instagram followers. "Our family is in agony," Guthrie said. "We are in a nightmare that will not end; nothing about our situation has changed."
She then spoke directly to the people who know information about her mother's whereabouts.
"I know that you have tried to do things the right way," she said. "So I'm asking you, begging you, to do the right thing now. … I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing."
