Heidi Klum is revealing she once went from a hospital stay straight to the Halloween makeup chair.
The supermodel and "Project Runway" host, 53, opened up to USA TODAY about the time she spent three days in a hospital right before Halloween but somehow made it to her iconic party.
"I came straight out of the hospital, but I still went," she says.
The revelation came during her Halloween pre-party Thursday, Oct. 29, days before her 25th annual bash, as she considered whether she would ever consider taking a year off from being the Queen of Halloween.
"Taking a year off? Are you crazy?" she says.
Klum says there's little that can get in the way of her reigning her Halloween throne – including
a hospital stay in 2013.
"I was eating something and I got really, really ill, and I actually had to go to the hospital, and I was very close [to] having a blood transfusion," she says.

Klum says the experience happened the same year she dressed as an elderly woman, for her 14th annual Halloween party.
"I went straight to New York, straight into my hair and makeup seat, and I went straight to the party," she says, adding that she was "looking like a 90-year-old and feeling also quite old that night because I was flying so long."
Halloween is also a family affair for Klum, whose children Leni Klum, 22, Henry Samuel, 21, and Johan Samuel, 19, were also in attendance at her party, and who have supported her on the red carpet at her Halloween party in past years.
Her other Halloween transformations have included a giant worm in 2022, a peacock in 2023 and E.T. in 2024. Last year, she arrived as a scaly, green Medusa, while husband Tom Kaulitz dressed as a soldier turned to stone.
Now, Klum is preparing for another transformation at her annual party Saturday, Oct. 31. Her social media teasers have included what appear to be prosthetic organs.
She also offers a new hint about her 2026 look: "My body is going to fit in a shape that normally a human body would not fit in," she says.
As for ever missing the festivities, Klum's answer was firm.
"For me not to go? Yeah, that's not gonna happen."
