Availability remains a problem for Rashee Rice.
The Kansas City Chiefs receiver has dealt with injuries and off-field trouble early in his career, missing a significant number of games in each of the last two seasons. His quest to stay on the field in 2026 took a big hit on Sunday in Week 4, when he suffered an injury.
Rice pulled up on a catch-and-run in the first quarter and grabbed his hamstring after the play.
The receiver hobbled to the sideline to be evaluated.
Here's the latest.
Rashee Rice injury update
Rice is questionable to return with a hamstring injury, the Chiefs announced.
The 26-year-old hauled in a pass from Patrick Mahomes about halfway through the first quarter. Rice was wide open and elected to run right for the sidelines, dropped the ball and immediately
grabbed his hamstring.
He went to the locker room for further evaluation.
Chiefs WR depth chart
- Rashee Rice (questionable - hamstring)
- Xavier Worthy
- Tyquan Thornton
- Jalen Royals
- Cyrus Allen
- Nikko Remigio
Rice was supposed to be Mahomes' go-to receiver in 2026, but he's been relatively quiet through three weeks. The Chiefs offense has instead relied heavily on the run game, led by Kenneth Walker III. In the passing attack, it has been all about Travis Kelce.
That leaves the bulk of the receiving work to Worthy and Thornton, meaning Kansas City will likely lean even more on Walker and Kelce.
