College football's premier pregame show is heading to a seldom-seen location in Week 7.
"College GameDay" will set up shop in Provo, Utah, to preview the undefeated, top-10 meeting between host No. 8 BYU and No. 3 Notre Dame.
Cougar fans, it’s been awhile 💭

We’re headed to Provo for the first time since 2009 for Notre Dame-BYU‼️ pic.twitter.com/gWSLxrpBkN
It is the show's first trip to Provo since 2009, when it was on hand to preview the Cougars' game vs. No. 10 TCU. BYU lost that game 38-7 in what ultimately was an 11-2 finish that year. The Horned Frogs went on to an undefeated regular-season record, eventually dropping the Fiesta Bowl to Boise
State.
Kalani Sitake and Co. will look to upend a history of notable defeats when they were featured on the show. The Cougars not only lost that 2009 game vs. TCU, but also have lost every single game as part of the promoted matchup:
- Nov. 20, 2004: Utah 52, BYU 21 (Salt Lake City)
- Oct. 24, 2009: TCU 38, BYU 7 (Provo, Utah)
- Dec. 5, 2020: Coastal Carolina 22, BYU 17 (Conway, South Carolina)
- Nov. 8, 2025: Texas Tech 29, BYU 7 (Lubbock, Texas)
The meeting between the Cougars and Fighting Irish could be a College Football Playoff-like game. The Fighting Irish have looked like one of college football's best teams all season, and the Cougars are among the top contenders in the Big 12 Conference, alongside Utah and Texas Tech.
