Raven-Symoné has regrets about having breast reduction surgery as a teen.
The "That's So Raven" star, 40, has previously opened up about undergoing the procedure after feeling pressure from adults around her.
"I should have done it after puberty," she said in a recent episode of the "Allure Perspectives" podcast. "I mean, they still look good, but it was hastily done."
The "Cheetah Girls" actress said she believes she was "too young." She added that she did not mind having larger breasts, quipping, "Oh girl, I got into anything! I was first in line."
"Push these little babies up, they get you anywhere," she told podcast host Jessica Cruel. "These triple Ds were popping."
In a December 2024 episode of her "Tea Time" podcast, which she cohosts with
her wife Miranda Pearman-Maday, the actress explained that someone told her that she needed to reduce the size of her breasts "in order to get a show." She said at the time that she would be willing to receive the surgery if she could also have liposuction.
"I was like, 'If you're going to take my boobs out, I want lipo. One for one, bro. Let's go,'" she said.
Raven-Symoné suffered a seizure after first procedure
In an August 2023 episode of "The Best Podcast Ever," she shared that she suffered a seizure as a result of the first procedure but ultimately went ahead with a second breast reduction.
"That first one I had, I actually had a seizure when I woke up from the surgery, and I remember waking up and seeing everything," she recalled. "Then I had this dry mouth and couldn't breathe, and they were like, 'Oh yeah, you had a seizure.'"
She continued: "The recovery was a little painful. I still have scar tissue to this day. I gained weight after and had to go back for a little bit more out because they were still too big."
Among the adults who encouraged her to undergo the procedures were her father and former manager Christopher Pearman, she said at the time. She added there was paperwork involved because she was a minor.
"My dad suggested strongly that I should get my breasts reduced. And he was like, 'So you don't feel bad, is there anything that you want?' I was like, 'Yeah, if I get lipo, will people stop calling me fat?' And so, I got a twofer," she added.
She said both cosmetic surgeries failed to halt the online bullying and body shaming, saying, "I still got reamed through social media because I wasn't as skinny as everybody else, and they still called me fat."
"So it's like, you get that done, and it's still not what everybody wanted to see," she said.
