The 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony is here, with the big event set for London on Monday, Oct. 26.
The Ballon d'Or is presented to the best player in the world, with separate awards for men and women. This year's ceremony marks the 70th edition of the trophy. The inaugural men's award was given to Stanley Matthews in 1956, while Ada Hegerberg won the first women's award in 2018.
Past winners for the men have included Bobby Charlton, Michel Platini, Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldinho. Cristiano Ronaldo has five titles and Lionel Messi has eight Ballon d'Or trophies to his name.
The women's award started in 2018 and has been given to Megan Rapinoe among others, with Aitana Bonmatí winning the past three years.
But the Ballon d'Or is far from the only award
on offer at the ceremony, with prizes for young players, goalkeepers, coaches, teams and more.
