It's just about mid-September, which means one thing for Major League Baseball: the postseason is just around the corner.
It's one of the most exciting times of the season as World Series predictions take form and pressure begins to mount for teams atop the odds list.
Reigning back-to-back World Series champion-Los Angeles Dodgers have given sports bettors every reason to believe they will put together a run that ends in a three-peat. They're star-studded, of course, wildly talented and are returning guys from injury in the nick of time.
The Boys in Blue have the second-best record in all of baseball and the National League at 90-57. They sit 1.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers, who are atop the MLB standings and the NL. Leading the American
League are the Tampa Bay Rays at 88-59, while the New York Yankees are currently in second place at 85-62.
Although the top MLB teams currently have the best odds, teams are looking to string together a late-season winning streak to jockey for postseason position and make a run at the World Series pennant.
