The New York Giants are breaking in a new starting quarterback, Jameis Winston, with Jaxson Dart out for the remainder of the 2026 NFL season.
Evidently, the team is still working out some of the kinks associated with incorporating Winston into their operation.
In the first half of the Giants' Week 3 game against the Tennessee Titans, Winston turned around to make a routine hand-off to Cam Skattebo while deep in their own territory. The problem? The two crashed into each other while making the exchange.
Skattebo was still able to take the ball from Winston, but he crashed to the ground for a loss of three yards before he was touched down by the Titans' defense.
That carry epitomized what
was a rocky first half for Skattebo on the ground. He handled a team-high 13 carries but turned them into just a paltry 18 yards. That was half as many as Najee Harris (36 yards) generated on five carries.
Skattebo was more productive through the air, as he notched two catches for a team-high 37 yards. Nonetheless, the Giants will want to get him going in the second half as they look to turn a 9-0 halftime lead against the Titans into their second win of the season.
