Augsburg’s Robin Fellhauer made Bundesliga history by scoring the fastest goal ever, capitalizing on a crucial mistake by Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer.
Within seconds of kickoff, Munich’s Luis Diaz rolled the ball back to Neuer. As Neuer attempted to play the ball forward, he miscontrolled it, allowing Fellhauer to intercept the loose pass. Seizing the opportunity, Fellhauer calmly slotted the ball into the empty net, giving Augsburg the lead before the match clock had even reached the first minute.
The ball fully crossed the line 8.4 seconds after kickoff, making it the fastest goal ever scored in the German top flight.
Neuer’s struggles continued later in the match. Augsburg defender Calvin Brackelmann unleashed a left-footed shot toward the bottom right corner, which Neuer managed to parry but failed to clear effectively. Augsburg’s Rodrigo Ribeiro was quick to react, pouncing on the rebound and tapping it into the center of the goal.
Despite Neuer’s two costly errors that led to Augsburg goals, Bayern Munich managed to salvage a draw. Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown both found the net for Bayern, sealing a 2-2 result. It is the second time this season that Bayern has dropped points, also settling for a draw with Schalke earlier this season.
