Patriots vs. Packers key storylines
- The Patriots are likely to be on A.J. Brown watch once again. After the receiver missed Sunday's win over the Dolphins with a knee injury, Mike Vrabel said Monday that the team would need to see how Brown progresses before determinig his status for the upcoming tilt.
- Micah Parsons is expected to make his much-anticipated return to practice this week for the Packers, but he might still be a long way out from contributing. Matt LaFleur said the edge rusher might need the full 21-day window before being added to the active roster, which would mean a late November return.
- If there is any change to running back Josh Jacobs' disciplinary status, it won't come from the Packers. LaFleur said this week that the team plans to continue on with the ball carrier as the NFL extends its investigation.

Adam Kaufman: Patriots 24, Packers 23
The Patriots are 17-0 with Drake Maye when favored by at least a field goal and we just may close there by Sunday afternoon. Who am I to disagree with a great trend? The Packers possess a dynamic passing offense but, even with Josh Jacobs back, still can't run the football with any efficiency. Plus, Christian Watson is dealing with a rib injury that sent him to the hospital for a portion of last week's primetime win over the Panthers. The Pats have the personnel to take advantage defensively, but Maye's offense also has questions around injuries to A.J. Brown, Hunter Henry and others. I'll take New England at home, but I'm expecting nervous pacing around living rooms throughout Massachusetts
before this one is settled.
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz: Packers 28, Patriots 27
Bombs away. With a matchup of two daring downfield passers and lackluster run games, both teams could air it out early and often against one another. Between their reliance on Jordan Love connecting on vertical shots and the pass rush picking up the rest of the defense with pressure, Green Bay might be more reliant of the two on igniting big plays. But the Packers' explosiveness shouldn't be doubted, and it could lead the team to its fifth win in six games.
Nicholas Brinkerhoff: Packers 26, Patriots 23
Good luck figuring these teams out. At times, Green Bay looks like a bad team. Then it looks like a Super Bowl contender. The same is true of New England, meaning there is a large range of outcomes we could see in Week 9. Will A.J. Brown play for the Patriots? Does it matter? Drop issues have plagued the star receiver and there's no sign of that disappearing anytime soon. On the other side, Christian Watson made 'Thursday Night Football” look like the WWE with his dramatic return. In the end, we'll trust the Packers offense to be the difference.
