With the Milwaukee Brewers winning their first-ever World Series title, there are only four Major League Baseball franchises who have never won a championship: the San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, Colorado Rockies and Tampa Bay Rays.
But the longest drought in baseball belongs to Cleveland, which last won a championship in 1948. They've coming agonizingly close, losing the 1997 and 2016 Fall Classics in seven games. Other previous champions in the midst of droughts of at least 40 years are the Pittsburgh Pirates (1979), Baltimore Orioles (1983), Detroit Tigers (1984) and New York Mets (1986).
Of the four teams to have never won a World Series, the Mariners are the only team that has not even reached the Fall Classic.
