The champagne is flowing and Aaron Judge was in his element. Yes, the New York Yankees are back in the MLB postseason. With a win over the Minnesota Twins on Monday, the Yankees officially clinched a playoff spot, but there is so much baseball left to play and the American League East division title is still within reach for New York.
The Yankees remaining 12 games of the regular season includes wrapping this series against the Twins, before traveling to face the Arizona Diamondbacks, and returning home for a key four-game series against the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays and a final weekend with the Baltimore Orioles. In 2025, the final standings of the AL East and the wild card were not determined until the last day of the season, but no matter
what, playoff baseball is back for Yankees fans.
Below, we'll breakdown everything you need to know about the New York Yankees postseason scenarios—including how to buy Yankees playoff tickets:

New York Yankees playoff scenarios
As of publication, the New York Yankees have officially clinched a playoff spot, as evidenced by Monday's champagne celebrations. But, the American League East is still very much up for grabs. As of publication, the Yankees are 3.5 games back and the Boston Red Sox are still technically alive as well. Because the Rays haven't clinched the division yet, the Yankees could still clinch and earn a first-round bye to the ALDS, or land as a wild card. Here's a breakdown of those playoff scenarios:

Note: Keep in mind, these are still potential playoff scenarios, but if you purchase tickets and the game does not happen, StubHub refunds your purchase.
If the season ended today, the Yankees would be heading into a 3-game wild card series where they would host the Boston Red Sox. But, the season doesn't end today and the Yankees still have a shot at the division. But, just in case the team doesn't pull off the upset in the last 12 games, Yankee fans would still see playoff baseball and more than likely at Yankee Stadium, against the rival Red Sox, for the second consecutive year.

New York Yankees ALDS tickets
Only 3.5 games separate the Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays for the AL East division title and there's a four-game series between the two scheduled for next week. The division title is very much on the table for New York. Winning the division title would guarantee a first-round bye, and if we're looking at the state of the rest of the American League, it would pretty much guarantee home-field advantage through the ALCS, including Game 1, Game 2 and a potential Game 5 of the ALDS.

New York Yankees 2026 World Series tickets
The Yankees are still searching for that elusive 27th World Series. Should they conquer the rest of the American League, they would have another shot it after the 2024 loss to The-Team-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (Dodgers). As with the other series, the team with the best record will host, which is less likely, but not impossible for an AL team.
- Home Game 1 - TBD — Starting at $1,688
- Home Game 2 - TBD — Starting at $2,007
- Home Game 3* - TBD — Starting at $2,084
