Sandra Bullock's favorite memory of Dolly Parton involves a tour bus.
Bullock, 62, opened up about working with Parton on "Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous," telling People magazine about one moment that still lives in her head rent-free. The country music legenddied Aug. 25, following a brief battle with cancer.
Bullock recalled having to take a tour bus "everywhere," including when traveling between film locations for the March 2005 comedy, due to her aerophobia, or an intense fear of flying, per the Cleveland Clinic.
"(Parton) came to Vegas, and she pulled her tour bus up next to mine — I think it was pink, of course — And I said, ‘Okay, so, Miss Parton, we’ve got a hotel and room for you that’s massive,'" Bullock told People. "And she goes,
‘No, I’ll stay in the bus.'"
Parton played herself in the sequel, which features a scene where Bullock’s character, Gracie Hart, tackles her, mistaking the "9 to 5" singer for a Dolly lookalike.
Bullock asked Parton where she planned on doing her hair and makeup for the scene. "And she goes, ‘Oh, I’ll do it on the bus,'" the actress recalled.
Parton also made sure to let the Oscar winner know that she would be sleeping on her bus, and Bullock let her know she would be doing the same: "Then I'm sleeping on the bus," she recalled saying.
"So she and I slept side-by-side on the bus," Bullock said about Parton.

Bullock had a blast working with Parton on the "Miss Congeniality" sequel, even discussing some of the funny moments they had on set upon the film's release.
"I was literally lying on top of her, and I didn’t feel comfortable with this, but she looked at me and said: ‘We’re going to put the Madonna-Britney kiss to shame!" Bullock told the BBC in 2005.
Bullock added: "And I thought, 'Wow, you rock. You just rock!' Really, she was everything you’d want her to be and more."
Tributes for the late singer have poured in since her nephew Bryan Seaver announced the news of her death on Aug. 25.
"Dolly has lived in the light, and is in the arms of Jesus," Seaver said, "surely met by Carl, her parents, and countless others who have watched her and longed for her to meet them in the heavens.”
