Comedian Christina Pazsitzky is confirming her split from fellow comic Tom Segura after 18 years of marriage.
Pazsitzky, 50, shared the news in an emotional moment on the Aug. 5 episode of their "Your Mom's House" podcast, which she and Segura, 47, started together in 2010.
"Tom and I are divorcing, and it is extremely sad," Pazsitzky said as she began to tear up. "I didn't know I was going to cry this soon. It is very sad. That being said, we have tried to work it out for several, several years for the sake of our children and our family. And we gave it all we could, but we just couldn't work things out."
Pazsitzky said she and Segura are prioritizing their sons Ellis, born in 2016, and Julian, born in 2018, and praised their "very successful
marriage."
The former couple tied the knot in November 2008 after meeting years prior performing at open mic nights for stand-up comics.
"We had 20 amazing years together, and that's a really good run I think in a marriage," she said. "We have comedy careers. We most importantly created a family."
Since starting the podcast together more than 15 years ago, Pazsitzky noted she and the "Bad Thoughts" star have "been through a lot together" with their listeners, including "births and deaths, tragic accidents," her 2024 breast cancer diagnosis and subsequent recovery, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I'm still here and we will survive," she continued, "like we have gotten through everything else in life. This is just an unfortunate thing, but we're going to be okay. Tom and I are, just so everybody knows, we are amicable. This is not an ugly divorce. Like, we're cool, dude."
Pazsitzky asked that people not take take sides in the divorce, emphasizing that she and Segura "do not hate each other" and have a family. She also noted her ex will continue to appear on the podcast "when he can" between film and television jobs.
"We're still going to have a good time," she said, adding, "So there you go. It's out, and I feel free because it's been some time coming."
Following the success of their podcast, Pazsitzky and Segura launched their own production company, YMH Studios, which is home to "Your Mom's House" and others.
They have also both had their own Netflix specials. Pazsitzky starred in "Christina P: Mother Inferior" in 2017 and "Christina P: Mom Genes" in 2022, and Segura's "Bad Thoughts" recently aired its second season, which is nominated for an Emmy at this year's upcoming ceremony.
