Most dog owners don't want their pooches jumping up on people. But one owner encouraged her dog to develop that skill all the way to a Guinness World Record.
Chardonnay, an Australian shepherd, recently executed an extraordinary feat, jumping along the backs of 56 people in 60 seconds. Overseen by trainer Jennifer Fraser, Chardonnay accomplished the feat June 14 in Edmonton, Alberta, according to Guinness World Records
.The record-issuing body announced the record for the most jumps between people by a dog in one minute (56 jumps), on social media, including an Aug. 30 video on Facebook.
At the event, which took place on a baseball field in Alberta, Chardonnay is seen racing across the bent backs of 56 people as you hear watchers holler encouragement
at the dog's progress. At the end, she jumps into Fraser's arms for a rewarding hug.
It's not the first record for Chardonnay or Fraser, of Alberta, according to Fraser's website Paws Fur Fun. The 4-year-old pooch previously earned a Guinness World Record for the fastest 10-hoop slalom by a dog in 2024.
"Jumping across backs is just one of her many skills," Fraser told The Washington Post. Fraser's dogs have won a total of 13 Guinness World Records.
Chardonnay, too, is apparently destined for more record-breaking attempts. Fraser thinks Chardonnay could jump across more than 100 people in a minute.
“We’re looking at breaking it again,” Fraser said.
