Hila Klein has officially filed for divorce from her husband, YouTuber and "H3 Podcast" co-host Ethan Klein, following her allegations that he had a months-long affair. According to documents obtained by USA TODAY, Hila Klein filed on Monday, Nov. 2, in the Los Angeles Superior Court for a dissolution of marriage after 14 years with minor children, with the date of separation being Oct. 13 — a week before her public accusation of Ethan's infidelity.
In her filing, she requested joint custody of their three children, spousal support, payment of her legal fees and restoration of her maiden name, Hacmon.
Hila Klein is represented by Julian Shojaie and Laura Wasser – the latter has represented many celebrity clients, including Kim Kardashian (in both
of her divorce cases), Angelina Jolie, Heidi Klum and Kelly Clarkson.
USA TODAY has reached out to a representative for Ethan Klein for comment.
Hila Klein shocked the "H3 Podcast" community when she uploaded a post to Instagram that said she was "living in a nightmare" because her husband "has been having an affair." She continued, "The person I loved and trusted for 20 years evaporated overnight. He was my safe place, my partner in marriage, parenting, and business. My only family on this side of the world. How do I even begin to make sense of this?"
Following her post, the members of the "H3 Podcast" team threw their support behind Hila Klein and reshared her post to their Instagram stories. Since then, Ethan Klein has shared a statement to his story that reads, "I know a lot of people are understandably looking for a comment from me, but I ask that you please respect my family's privacy and do not contact them looking for me or asking for their comments." It ends with him writing, "They have nothing to do with this and share in your outrage and disappointment. Thank you."
He also said that he was working to "urgently remove" his ownership and financial stakes in the podcasts under the H3 Productions umbrella, as well as their brands Teddy Fresh and Teddy Glow. "All of your support will go directly to Hila and the crew," he wrote in an Instagram story. "I do this in the hope that people can still support Hila and the Crew without the concern of enriching me.”
Since Ethan Klein's departure, the show has been put on an "indefinite hiatus," and it's unclear whether it will continue without him.
