Did family game night cause you to spiral into a competitive frenzy? A new Mattel event may just be for you.
On Aug. 19, Mattel announced its inaugural UNO Championship, a live event in which top-performing UNO players will compete for a grand prize of $50,000. The championship will be held in Los Angeles on Nov. 11.
In anticipation of the tournament, Mattel has released a new line of Championship Series products, including a championship belt, at-home tournament kit and electronic card shuffler. The products are available for purchase on the Mattel website.

How to enter the UNO Championship Series Tournament qualifiers
There are two ways to participate in the UNO Championship Series Tournament qualifiers: playing in person
or online.
In-person tournaments will be held in Kissimmee, Florida on Oct. 3, Chicago on Oct. 10 and El Segundo, California on Oct. 17. One winner from each event earns a spot in the championship.
Free weekly qualifying tournaments will also be held in the UNO! mobile app between Aug. 31 and Sept. 27. Four virtual players will also be sent to the championship.
Regardless if playing in-person or online, contestants must register on the Mattel website at championship.matteluno.com. For the in-person tournaments, only 150 eligible contestants will be selected to attend, based on a first-come-first-serve basis, according to official contest rules.

Who qualifies for the UNO Championship?
Contestants must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the United States.
For those participating via the UNO! mobile app, contestants must have a minimum of 60 in-game trophies to enter the tournament. Digital players can play up to 20 games per weekly entry period, according to the official contest rules.
What is the UNO Championship grand prize?
The grand prize for the inaugural UNO Championship is $50,000. However, the seven finalists for the competition will also receive roundtrip airline accommodations to Los Angeles, a three-night hotel stay and $225 of spending money, according to the official contest rules. As of Aug. 20, Mattel had not shared where in Los Angeles the championship will be held.

- UNO Championship Series Tournament Set ($20): 224 cards, one leaderboard, one dry erase marker and one championship trophy
- UNO Championship Series Championship Belt ($20)
- UNO Championship Series Card Shuffler ($25)
- UNO Championship Series Expanded Tournament Set ($33): 336 cards, two leaderboards, two dry erase markers and one championship trophy
