"Monday Night Football" arrives in New Orleans with an NFC South battle.
The New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons both enter Week 4 at 1-2. The Carolina Panthers improved to 2-2 last night, but the division is still very much up for grabs as the first month of the NFL season draws to a close.
And then there’s the small matter of the anniversary. Twenty years ago, the Saints returned to the Superdome for the first time after Hurricane Katrina, beating these same Falcons 23-3 in one of the most emotional nights in franchise history. Steve Gleason’s iconic blocked punt helped spark the party then, and New Orleans will be hoping tonight’s celebration ends with another reason to cheer.

Atlanta, naturally, has other ideas. The Falcons arrive feeling rather good about themselves after a 35-14 demolition of the Green Bay Packers, with Bijan Robinson leading the charge after rumbling for 194 yards and two touchdowns last week. Michael Penix Jr. also sparked the offense in his season debut, throwing for 256 yards and a score.
Tyler Shough, meanwhile, will look to put the Saints back on track after turnovers spoiled a four-touchdown performance against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The stage is set. The Dome is ready. Now, somebody just needs to spoil somebody else's party.
