Kids grow up, but for Joanna Gaines, family is forever.
The interior designer and reality TV personality, who shares five children with husband and "Fixer Upper" costar Chip Gaines, posted a new video on social media Sunday, Aug. 2, featuring all of the couple's kids. The Gaines clan was enjoying a family getaway in the Colorado mountains, where Joanna and Chip previously renovated their own family home on the series "Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain Home."
"A few days in the mountains with the whole fam makes this mama's heart so happy," Gaines, 48, captioned the post. "Fishing, chopping down dead trees, making forts for the [squirrels], crunchy French toast, rodeo, bikes and family hikes❤️"
Gaines' five children with longtime husband Chip include
sons Drake, 21, Duke, 18, and Crew, 8, as well as daughters Ella, 19, and Emmie, 16.
The post showed several candid shots of Gaines and her family soaking up the idyllic mountain scenery, including walking on a trail and visiting a river. The Magnolia Network star also showed off her flair for home decor with a close-up of the family's dining table setting, which featured a rustic wooden table and a vase of fresh flowers.
Gaines previously opened up about the renovation process for the family's Colorado home in a December post on the Magnolia blog.
"Over the last decade, Colorado has become a home away from home for our family," Gaines wrote. "Between yearly ski trips and spring break getaways, we fell in love with the mountains, the rivers and the abundance of fresh air — and somewhere along the way started to wonder if Colorado was meant to be a bigger part of our family's future.
"As Chip is known to do, he started looking at real estate — casually — until he stumbled upon this house nestled in the Rocky Mountains. From the moment we pulled into the long driveway, it immediately felt like we'd found far more than what we'd been looking for."
The HGTV alums rarely share photos of their family on social media, and when they do, the children's faces are often obscured.
In June, Gaines treated fans to a sweet family throwback when she shared childhood footage of Chip and their kids in honor of Father's Day. The video showed the couple cruising down the road while their children goofed around in the backseat.
"This was back when we had four car seats in the car and our four kiddos were 4 years old and under," Gaines wrote. "People thought we were crazy, but you always, always made being a father look easy. Thank you for loving our five children so dang well. We love you."
