It's still a month away, but Labor Day weekend plans are taking shape in Washington DC with several annual events once again on the schedule.
The unofficial end of summer brings another packed weekend of entertainment and outdoor events to the District.
Here's what's going on in the nation's capital during Labor Day weekend.
DC Jazz Festival
The DC Jazz Festival returns for its annual celebration Sept. 2-6, bringing jazz performances to venues across the District.
The festival features a mix of internationally acclaimed artists, emerging musicians and local talent, with concerts ranging from intimate club performances to larger outdoor shows.
Events are scheduled throughout the city during Labor Day weekend, making it one of the capital's signature annual music festivals.

NSO Labor Day Concert
The National Symphony Orchestra annually marks Labor Day with an annual free concert on the West Lawn of the United States Capitol. The concert is sponsored by Congress and the Secretary of the Interior.
The performance, a longstanding holiday tradition, features patriotic favorites and classical selections against the backdrop of the Capitol, with no tickets required. The evening concert often brings thousands of attendees to celebrate the unofficial end of summer.
Labor Day Art Show
The 55th Annual Labor Day Art Show returns to Glen Echo Park over Labor Day weekend, showcasing thousands of works by artists from across the DC region.
The annual exhibition features paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and other media from more than 400 artists, with many pieces available for purchase.
The event is free to attend.
DC Festival of Magic
The DC Festival of Magic will bring a weekend of illusions, mind-reading and sleight-of-hand performances to the capital Sept. 4-6.
Hosted at the Capital Hilton, the annual festival features magicians from around the world performing multiple shows throughout Labor Day weekend.
Now in its fifth year, the event offers a mix of comedy, close-up magic and large-scale illusions for both longtime magic fans and newcomers.

DC State Fair
The DC State Fair returns Sept. 6 for its 17th annual celebration of the District's agricultural, culinary and artistic talents.
The free event will feature contests, local vendors, live music, educational workshops and activities highlighting the creativity of DC residents.
This year's fair will take place in downtown DC as part of the Labor Day weekend lineup.
