Savannah Guthrie has issued a new plea for information about Nancy Guthrie, nine months to the day after her 84-year-old mother was reported missing.
The "Today" show co-host marked the sad anniversary on Instagram, sharing a sentimental old drawing by her daughter, Vale, of a blue umbrella in the rain, scrawled with the words, "I know it might not seem like it but I really need my Mommy."
Nancy Guthrie was reported missing from her Tucson, Arizona, home on Feb. 1. Authorities say she was taken against her will.
The FBI released images in February of an armed person at her front door, appearing to tamper with the camera. The person has not been identified.
Guthrie noted that the drawing says "so much about how I feel."
"The world goes on, things
appear 'normal' − as we try to keep going and be strong, especially for our young kids − but it’s not and it never will be," she wrote. "For Annie and Tommy, for Cam and Kristine, for Mike and me and for all of mom’s beloved grandchildren: we ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward. We need someone to help us, tell us what you know.
"Our mom was a light in this world. We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves. The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us."
She closed the message by thanking those "who have been kind and shown the best of humanity" and a yellow heart emoji. "Join us in praying without ceasing."
On Oct. 30, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department in Arizona issued an update about its investigation on X.
"The Nancy Guthrie Task Force continued to work with our labs in hopes of furthering our DNA analysis in this investigation," a statement from Sheriff Chris Nanos reads. "Earlier this month investigators traveled to Florida to meet with lab scientists to see what more could be done to advance the case. A number of ideas were discussed, and we continue to work with all of our partners to solve this case."
The statement ends with a call to action, urging that "no tip is too small."

In July, Savannah Guthrie made an emotional plea in an Instagram video, and said her "family is in agony" and asked listeners to "help us find her."
"We are in a nightmare that will not end; nothing about our situation has changed," she said in the video. "We will never stop looking for her. We will always ache for her and feel that hole in our hearts."
In a June conversation on "Today" with Jenna Bush Hager, Savannah Guthrie shared that continuing to do her job amid her mom's disappearance hasn't been easy.
"I know maybe people wonder, 'What's going on? How is she able to do that job? Is she not thinking about it? Did she forget?' No. Never," she said, adding, "I cry every morning on the way to work, and I cry every morning on the way home."
